Is Your Giving Bold Enough?

Sheryl Sackman

MRG staff members recently met with Anne and Christopher Ellinger from a group called “Bolder Giving.” This group is dedicated to inspiring all of us to give more to the causes we care about. Bolder Giving has four ways they want people to think about giving more:

1.    Give more (time, talent, & treasure)
2.    Give more effectively
3.    Become more fulfilled
as a giver
4.    Encourage others
to give boldly

To learn more, you can visit Bolder Giving at www.boldergiving.org.

To hear how some folks have expanded their giving, check out these inspirational stories of giving. Or use their site to help you figure out your giving potential.

With all of the choices we have to give our time and money, it can be challenging to figure out what’s right for each of us. It's helpful to ask: what are my values and how can I make sure my giving is aligned with those values?

Another great resource to help you think about the impact you want to have in the world is the book Robin Hood Was Right, by Chuck Collins and Pam Rogers. With some excellent worksheets and testimonials, this book gives you the tools and perspective you need to develop your giving plan for social change. We have some extra copies of Robin Hood was Right here at our office. If you’d like a copy, simply sheryl [at] mrgfoundation [dot] org (send me an email) today.
